Tom is passionate
about advancing his knowledge and has
accumulated extensive credentials and
designations in his field. He also has
what may be the most diverse experience
in the financial management industry
today. After earning a bachelor’s degree
in business from Skidmore College in
Saratoga Springs, New York, Tom received
his certification in portfolio
management from the renowned University
of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Teaching financial counseling at the
graduate level for the American College
and guest lecturing at Purdue
University’s Krannert Graduate School of
Business provided Tom with the impetus
to develop one-on-one educational
workshops for clients. His resulting
Investor Education Program focuses on
financial planning and investment
management and has become Tom’s
trademark in his field. Traveling to
Kuwait five times in an 18-month period
to teach modern portfolio theory and
investment management techniques to some
of Shearson Lehman Brothers’ clients in
that part of the world further enhanced
Tom’s interest and understanding of the
global market. This led him to spend the
next five years researching and testing
methods to reduce risk by blending
domestic and international securities.
The result was his Global Portfolio
Management Program, launched in January
1994.
The author of several white papers and
professional journal articles, Tom has
written Never Too Old to Rock and Roll:
Life After 50—The Best Years Yet. This
timely and informative book on how the
“rock and roll generation” will redefine
the retirement process is now available
at

Zionsville, Indiana, with his wife Kim.
About the Book
and Tom’s workshop
Back in the 1960s, the rock
and roll generation led a cultural
revolution—and we’re about to do it again. We’ll
upend stereotypes on aging and create a whole
new paradigm for life after 50. What makes our
generation so different from the rest?
• We believe the best is yet to come.
Unlike the previous generation, whose memories
of the Great Depression and World War II left
them worried about the future, we’ve always been
creative, optimistic, unafraid of change, and
young at heart.
• We’re the rock and roll generation—always
have been, always will be. When we’re 100
years old, we’ll still be the rock and roll
generation! We’ll never consider ourselves
“seniors,” no matter how old we get.
• We’ll attack our 50s, 60s, and 70s much
differently than our parents did. Thanks to
advancements in technology, medicine, nutrition,
and other key areas, we feel younger physically
and mentally, and we won’t slow down anytime
soon.
• We’re living a lifestyle we love and we
don’t want it to end. Rather than “retiring”
to inactivity, we feel like kids out of high
school—every choice, career, and opportunity is
ours for the taking, and this time we have
wisdom, insight, intuition, and money!
• Attaining financial freedom is more
important than ever. With so much to look
forward to, we don’t want to run out of money
before we run out of time.
If you believe that getting older means
struggling to live within your means, falling
apart at the seams, and giving up on your
dreams, this is not the book for you. But if you
want to make life after 50 your best years
yet—if you’re looking for new ideas, new
concepts, and new adventures—then get ready to
rock and roll! This book will change the way
America looks at aging, now and forever.
