Dr. Childers was born and raised in southern California. He did undergraduate research at and received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from UCLA in 1967. He then attended graduate school at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana where he earned his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry in 1972. After postgraduate study on the structure and function of peptides and proteins, Eli Lilly and Company hired him in 1974. He worked in Indianapolis for 26 years as a research scientist in the Pharmaceutical Product Development component. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Pastors Seminary in Indianapolis

Dr. Childers is passionate about the understanding of Creationism. His web site IntelligentOrigins.com has provided thousands with an insight into the true understanding of the origins of our universe. As both a scientist with an earned PHD and a man of great faith and study of God’s word, Dr. Childers brings a unique perspective to the study of the Creation of the earth and an explanation as to how we were formed and how do we find evidence of creatures that seem to be older than Adam.

Dr. Childers will bring a tremendous insight to your church or group that will make them re-think many of our preconceived ideas on the creation itself and yet never tarry from the Word of God.

Since his retirement from Lilly in 2000, he has become more heavily involved in ministry with his church and is a Field Associate with CBMC Indiana. He also lectures occasionally on 'Origins: Existence, Purpose and Destiny' and/or 'Intelligent Design'.

Ray lives in Carmel, Indiana with his wife of 36 years, Lisa. They have two married children, Ali and Jeff.
