Kim Coleman has been
performing and teaching theatre for 16 years.
Her acting experience includes theatre,
television, and film, not to mention being the
Co-founder and serving as the Artistic and
Education Director of StageWorks Theatre for 4
1/2 years. She has
performed with Illustrated Theatre and Stage
Door Theatre out of Chicago, Dramatic Arts
Studio out of Nashville and The Market House
Theatre out of Kentucky. Television credits
include To Sir with Love II with Sidney Poiter,
and Following Her Heart with Ann Margaret. In
addition, Kim has numerous commercial and
industrial credits. Her teaching skills abound
as she has served as the lead drama teacher for
the Union County Schools in NC, taught at the
Children's Theatre of Charlotte, not to mention
beginning several drama camps and teaching
students from ages 3 to 63. She specializes in
integrating different curriculum areas into
drama for a fresh way of learning. Then came her
(and her husband's) grandest production, their
first daughter, which led to the selling of her
interest in Stage Works Theatre company shortly
thereafter.
However, God was not ready for
her to retire her talents, in fact after
relocating to Houston, TX; he put her to work as
a drama instructor for the AD Players and
decided she should use her writing and acting
talents for her church drama team. God always
has a plan. Her performance "Hats" grew out of a
production she wrote for the women's ministry at
Lakewood Church, where she attended. "It's
amazing to watch God work", says Coleman and
soon she was being invited to other churches in
Houston and North Carolina, where she is
originally from.If "a
merry heart doth good like a medicine," then
those who God touches through Kim's comedic gift
are surely feeling fine. Kim Coleman, her
husband, two daughters (another gift), and her
dog Bo reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. She
attends Grace Covenant Church.
