Allen D. Edge, The Edge of
Sanity is an ordained minister, a talented
actor, director, producer, and stand-up comedian
with over thirty seven years in the performing
arts. Allen has performed his special brand of
humor at Zanies in Chicago, Barrel of Laughs,
Jokes & Notes, Comedy Central's "Comic Justice",
The Comedy Cafe in Milwaukee, and the Apollo
Theatre in New York. Allen has also opened for
Aretha Franklin, Pattie La Belle, Smokey
Robinson, The O'Jays and The Soul Children of
Chicago.
Mr. Edge has also worked with The Goodman
Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Victory Gardens
Theatre, and The Black Ensemble Theatre. Allen
was also featured in Barber Shop 2. Mr. Edge has
also worked in the area of commercials for such
companies as McDonalds, Captain D’s, Osco drugs
and many others.
Allen has a Bachelors of Arts
degree in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago.
He is also the founder and president of
Transitions Edge Productions, Inc., a production
company dedicated to the effective communication
of Christ Jesus through the performing arts. Mr.
Edge is the board chairman of Christian Artists
Network. C.A.N. is also the Illinois Chapter of
Hollywood Prayer Network
